What is the Planetary Guardians?

The Planetary Guardians is an independent collective elevating the science to make the Planetary Boundaries a measurement and operating framework for the world to urgently restore a healthy partnership with the planet. The Planetary Guardians are entirely focused on elevating the science of the Planetary Boundaries and, based on this, asking the world to take a whole planet approach. Their differentiated positioning is defined by the depth, strength, variety and credibility of the collective voices that they represent.

What do the Planetary Guardians do?

The Planetary Guardians main strategic priorities are:

• Elevating the Planetary Boundary Science:

An annual unveiling of the Planetary Boundary Health Check, to accurately measure and track the state of the Planet, as well as develop a global roadmap back to safety.

• Catalyse Systems Change:

Advocate for systemic changes on behalf of the planet and shine a spotlight on priority solutions across all boundaries.

• Elevating a Connected Network:

Encouraging everyone, everywhere to become Planetary Guardians.
