Challenging unacceptable issues on our doorsteps

Time and again we see you step up and go the extra mile in support of others. We want to say thank you to all of you who spend your own time volunteering for charities that you care about, tackling unacceptable issues on our doorsteps. 

Through Virgin Unite Local Legends, we’re awarding £1,000,000 over three years to community-based UK charities nominated by a Virgin volunteer. In this round, nominated charities will be able to apply for a grant of £5,000 to spend where it’s needed most. 

You can make a nomination if you are an employee of a Virgin company in the UK and you volunteer in your own time for a registered charity tackling unacceptable issues within the UK. Nobody likes a long list of rules, but please check the eligibility details of what we can and can’t support through Local Legends before you nominate.  

Nominations for this round of Virgin Unite Local Legends will be open from Monday 19th January to Monday 2nd March 2026
